Mobile security patrols

ORION FACILITIES MANAGEMENT · LONDON

Mobile security patrols provide visits to agreed premises for defined checks and reporting. Orion helps you plan patrol requirements around unoccupied periods, accessible areas and the concerns you want the visiting officer to look for.

Site checks with a defined purpose

Patrol visits suit requirements where checks are needed at specified intervals rather than a continuous presence. A useful patrol plan identifies exactly what can be inspected, how access is obtained and what should happen if something is different from the expected condition. Visits are not a substitute for an officer remaining on site throughout a shift.

What the agreed service can include

  • Checking agreed external doors, gates and accessible boundaries
  • Observing visible signs of damage or unusual activity
  • Inspecting agreed communal areas where access is authorised
  • Recording completed checks and exceptions requiring attention
  • Following the agreed contact and escalation instructions

Planning the service

Provide the site address, property layout, preferred visit pattern and any areas that cannot be entered. We discuss the practical access arrangements, whether keys are required and the information to be recorded at each visit. The number and timing of visits, coverage and reporting format are confirmed in the proposal.

Responsibilities and ongoing communication

Site conditions can change between visits. Share known access faults, building works or changes to occupancy so the checklist stays useful. Where a concern needs action beyond the patrol duties, an agreed escalation route helps the visiting officer contact the appropriate person without assuming authority for repairs or other work.

We discuss the duties, access, practical requirements and any exclusions. Further site information may be needed.

03

Review your proposal

Consider the proposed scope, schedule and price before deciding. Work begins only once arrangements are agreed.

Your questions answered

Is someone at the site between patrols?

A patrol service covers the agreed visits. It does not provide continuous attendance between them. Discuss guarding or static security if a person needs to remain at the premises.

Can patrols include indoor checks?

Indoor checks can be considered where access and the inspection areas are authorised. Restricted rooms, lone-working conditions and any safety limitations need to be discussed before agreement.

Will I receive a record of visits?

The reporting format and recipients are agreed with you. Tell us whether you need a checklist, exception report or another practical record for the property.
