Lock-up and unlocking services

SECURITY SERVICES IN LONDON

Opening and closing a property involves more than turning a key. Orion provides scheduled lock-up and unlocking services in London, following an agreed checklist for your building and a clear process for reporting anything unexpected.

An agreed routine at the start and end of the day

The service is planned around the doors, access points and checks identified for your premises. We agree who can authorise entry, how keys or access credentials are controlled and what should happen if a door, alarm or other agreed check does not operate as expected.

What the assignment can include

  • Attending at the agreed opening or closing time
  • Following the approved access and locking checklist
  • Checking designated doors and other agreed access points
  • Setting or unsetting alarms where included and authorised
  • Recording attendance and escalating exceptions to the named contact

Plan your service

Provide the site address, opening and closing times, access instructions and any alarm procedures. We also need an authorised contact and a clear escalation route. Any internal checks, weekend visits or changes to the routine should be included expressly in the agreed scope.

Create a usable opening and closing checklist

Identify the doors, gates and accessible windows included in the task, along with the permitted alarm actions. Tell us about occupants who may remain late, deliveries that arrive before opening and areas controlled by other parties. The checklist should explain what to do if a door cannot be secured or someone is still on site.

Plan changes before they happen

Bank holidays, temporary opening hours and building works can affect access. Agree how schedule changes are authorised and how much notice is required. Record any exception at the end of the visit and identify who must be informed. Alarm faults, repairs and tasks outside the checklist require separate instructions.

Questions about lock-up and unlocking services

Can this be combined with key holding?

Yes. Key holding and scheduled opening or closing can be discussed as a combined arrangement. Each responsibility and access procedure is set out in the service plan.

What happens if there is a problem during a visit?

The site instructions identify the person to contact, the checks to record and the escalation procedure. The response depends on the circumstances and the authority agreed for the assignment.
