CCTV operator staffing

CCTV OPERATOR STAFFING IN LONDON

Orion provides CCTV operator staffing for offices, managed buildings, retail premises and other suitable commercial sites in London. Discuss regular shifts, temporary cover or support for your existing control-room team.

CCTV staff for your existing facilities

We supply personnel to work with the cameras, monitoring equipment and control-room facilities provided at your premises. The assignment is planned around the systems in use, monitoring responsibilities, hours of cover and the procedures your site team follows.

This service can support a permanent team or provide cover for an agreed period. Tell us how many operators you need, whether they will work independently or alongside colleagues, and what other responsibilities form part of the role. Availability is confirmed before an assignment is accepted.

What a CCTV operator assignment can include

  • Observing agreed camera views and identifying activity requiring attention.
  • Maintaining an occurrence log and recording incidents accurately.
  • Communicating with authorised guards, building managers and nominated contacts.
  • Following agreed alarm, escalation and emergency procedures.
  • Supporting authorised incident review and footage retrieval within the defined role.
  • Completing shift handovers and reporting equipment faults.

Define the monitoring responsibilities

Before deployment, agree the areas monitored, the expected workload, any access-control duties and the route for reporting concerns. Identify who can authorise playback or export of footage and how requests are recorded. Remote monitoring from a separate Orion monitoring centre is outside this staffing service.

A suitable site induction should cover the equipment, camera layout, incident procedures, escalation contacts and handover arrangements. The scope must also address breaks and any relief needed to maintain continuous coverage.

Licensing and handling footage

The duties determine the SIA licence required. Relevant public-space-surveillance work requires an appropriate CCTV licence; we establish the applicable licence and assignment requirements before confirming an operator. Any additional guarding or door-supervision duties must also be identified.

Operators follow the site’s authorised access, confidentiality and data-handling procedures. Agree arrangements for viewing, retaining and sharing footage with the responsible organisation. Do not send system passwords, live camera links, footage or sensitive incident information through the initial enquiry form.

Regular staffing and temporary cover

Describe the shifts, expected duration and proposed start date. We can discuss requirements for offices, mixed-use properties, retail sites and commercial control rooms. The quotation will identify the agreed staffing, duties, schedule, induction and reporting arrangements.

What affects your quotation?

Pricing depends on operator numbers, experience, licence requirements, shift length, contract duration, location and the responsibilities involved. Additional supervisory duties, short-notice cover and any client wage requirements are considered when preparing the proposal. A written quotation confirms the price before work is agreed.

Questions about CCTV staffing

Can you provide temporary cover?

Tell us the dates, hours and skills needed. We review the assignment and confirm whether suitable personnel are available.

Does the service include cameras or installation?

This quotation is for operator staffing using the client’s existing facilities. For equipment requirements, see our CCTV installation service.

Can an operator also carry out guarding duties?

Any combined role must be assessed before agreement. Duties, licensing and staffing levels need to allow the monitoring responsibilities to be fulfilled, including during breaks or other tasks.

What should I send for a quotation?
