Fire warden services

ORION FACILITIES MANAGEMENT · LONDON

Orion provides fire warden support within an agreed site role. We discuss the premises, the existing emergency arrangements and the duties required so the assignment supports the building’s own procedures.

A defined role within your site procedures

Fire warden duties need to be understood by the site team before an assignment begins. The role should identify the areas covered, the reporting structure and what action is expected when an alarm sounds. It should also state any limitations. Operational support does not by itself replace the premises’ fire-safety management, assessments or specialist advice.

What the agreed service can include

  • Familiarisation with the agreed evacuation arrangements
  • Observing and reporting obvious issues within the assigned duties
  • Helping communicate the building’s instructions during an evacuation
  • Supporting agreed checks only where safe and authorised
  • Reporting observations and handover information to the nominated site contact

Planning the service

Provide the premises type, occupancy pattern, working hours and the reason support is needed. Tell us about existing wardens, evacuation plans, assembly points and communication arrangements. The required briefing, competence, authority and working conditions must be confirmed before an assignment is accepted.

Responsibilities and ongoing communication

An assignment needs clear boundaries, especially where people may require assistance or several occupiers share a building. Explain any particular arrangements already in place and who has overall responsibility on site. Fire-risk assessments, system certification, fire engineering, firefighting and specialist training are not represented as included services on this page.

From enquiry to an agreed service

01

Share the essentials

Send the location, service required, preferred timing and your main priorities through our enquiry form.

02

Clarify the scope

We discuss the duties, access, practical requirements and any exclusions. Further site information may be needed.

03

Review your proposal

Consider the proposed scope, schedule and price before deciding. Work begins only once arrangements are agreed.

Your questions answered

Can support be combined with security duties?

Potentially, where the responsibilities are compatible and clearly agreed. The site arrangements must explain which duty takes priority and how required coverage is maintained.

Does this include a fire-risk assessment?

No. This page describes operational fire warden support. Any specialist assessment or professional advice would require a separate, expressly agreed service.

What information should I provide?

Start with the site location, hours, building use and the support required. Detailed emergency plans and sensitive access information can be discussed through an appropriate channel after initial contact.
